The Bleeding Hearts Awards: Voting Time!
First up: Thanks so much to everyone who nominated books and characters for The Bleeding Hearts Awards! You guys are totally awesome! I've done my best to put together some solid polls here. If I did not include a selection for some reason, my most sincere apologies. Some categories had way too many nominees and I had to narrow it down.
Based on the feedback that I got, I ended up making a few minor changes:
(1) I got rid of the Most Terrifying Book category -- there was only one entry, The Forest of Hands and Teeth. I'm a total wuss so there was no way I could fill in the gaps there.
(2) I added a Best Dystopian category. I realize this is going to get mixed responses -- Dystopian fiction is sci-fi, not paranormal. But I had a lot of people nominating The Hunger Games and Divergent, and since these votes are about selecting the books people can win in the THREE giveaways I'm doing, I think that "give the people what they want" is the best attitude to take here.
(3) I separated Witches and Faeries into their own categories. There were more then enough books nominated to make this choice both logical and easy.
And here are a couple minor notes:
(1) I did not want to pick two sets for triangles in certain books, such as Bella / Edward and Bella / Jacob for Twilight, so if you like any pairing with a main character in a book, please realize you can and are supporting it. Thank you.
(2) For the most part, I am going to be relating to the first book in series sets. Please realize that this is to allow the maximum amount of "Oh, okay! I know that one!" from all voters. By voting for that series, you *are* voting for your favorite book in it.
(3) Feel free to tell everyone about which book or which pairing your vote is for if you like, but be mindful not to put spoilers in the comments -- they will be deleted. I wouldn't want a book to be spoiled for someone. Thank you.
So without further ado, let the blood bath ... uh, voting... begin! ;)

Category #8: Best Character (Male)
Category #9: Best Character (Female)
Category #10: Best Villain
Category #11: Best Book Award
Okay, here is how this one is going to work, and please listen up, because this one is IMPORTANT!
There are way too many books here for me to technically make a poll. So what I am going to do is have you guys leave a comment with your choice for best book. You can choose from any book (whether it was nominated as a book or because of a character / couple) above. This will also tell me who has actually taken the time to vote so that I can check when I ask about this during the giveaways.
Thanks so much for taking part in the Bleeding Hearts Awards! Make sure that you come back starting October 24th when I will be announcing the winning books and beginning the first of my THREE Giveaways!

Poll: Who Are You?
Last Week's Poll:
Last week I asked you guys which book you were more excited about, Carrier of the Mark or Lola and the Boy Next Door. Here are the results...
Carrier of the Mark: 32%
Lola and the Boy Next Door: 68%
Winner of Book Wars #2: Lola and the Boy Next Door!
This Week's Question:
October is just around the corner. I put up the nominations page for the Bleeding Hearts Awards last night. (Go make sure your favorite books and characters get recognized!) and I have lots of spooktacular fun planned over the next few weeks. In honor of all the Halloween goodness, I've decided that we need a question that will suit the occasion...
Who Are You?
Okay, guys. It's time to take a walk on the wild side. Let your inner faerie, vampire, werewolf, witch or zombie have a moment in the sun (Okay... That might be a bad idea. Might wanna stick to moonlit settings if that pesky sun has unwanted effects!) Anyway, pick your favorite supernatural being and lets see which magical / monstrous being is most popular this year!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone 26%
A Beautiful Dark 9%

This Week's Question:
Which book are you looking most forward to: Carrier of the Mark or Lola and the Boy Next Door? If you want to read the summaries, why not drop by my Giveaway Page, where you can even enter your name to win one of these books from me? :D I will include images of the books, along with links to their pages on GoodReads, too.
Let the latest Book War begin. Which of these awesome titles do you want most? Let your voice be heard and vote! :D

Poll: How Do You Choose Your Books?
First, I'd like to thank everyone who voted in last week's Book Wars poll. Shut Out actually did "shut out" Sweet Venom with a score of 14:0, so I will do my best to get a review up for you guys as soon as I'm finished reading. :D
This week's poll is about how you pick your books. I'm curious to see what information about books helps the readers on my blog and what doesn't really matter. So, here are the things I can provide you guys with (promotional materials permitting). Let me know what helps you out.
Previews:
Quite simply, these are what I did in my September Preview article. This is where I grab an image of the book(s), their summary, their trailer if they have one and then share why I'm looking forward to reading them. I had a lot of fun doing my September Preview and I hope that it got you guys excited for some of the awesome books releasing this month. But obviously, I need to know. :)
Book Trailers:
Should I start doing a weekly Book Theatre themed post? I don't make my *final* decision on a book based on its trailer, but once it joins my TBR pile, if it has a trailer I am generally curious to see it.
Reviews:
My site does a lot of reviews. But I follow a lot of other awesome sites who review well, too. I often get recommendations or ideas by visiting them. Would it help you if I listed reviews from other book bloggers on the books I'm reviewing?
Summary:
Do you guys prefer the GoodReads Summaries or did you like it better when I described the book? (Yes, I admit I got a little lazy / wasn't sure which way worked better.) Summaries are kind of like what we might read on the back of a book at the store. They're really important.
First Pages:
Would you guys like it if I included a link to amazon if the first pages of a book are viewable / downloadable for Kindle (which you can get a PC version for if you don't own an actual eReader). I know that when I make my reading selections I always check to see if I can do this, but I haven't been including them because I don't know if they would help others.
Word of Mouth:
Do you get recommendations from lots of different sources before you read something, or do you tend to either know what you like or have a specific group of people / resources that you use?
Anyway... Please feel free to vote on my poll. Also, please feel free to leave comments about these options. I want to make sure that I am giving you the best information that I can so that I can help ensure that you get connected with books that you think are awesome.
