After reading and loving both Losing It and Faking It, I suppose it only stands to reason that I'm totally dying to read Finding It. I thought that Kelsey was a pretty awesome friend to Bliss and I missed her in Faking It. I'm really excited to see how her travels have gone... and, of course, to see her find love! Odds are high this'll be a day one purchase for me because I absolutely can't wait to read it! :)

I love this series so much that I did video reviews for the previous installments. That should tell you something right there. Oh! And this may be the only series in existence I've ever read where I'm interested in the less "villain'-y guy. Who knew? Anyway, yes, must read this ASAP. Anyone else anxious for it?

I absolutely adored the Perfect Chemistry trilogy, so saying that Wild Cards is going to be a day one purchase is almost underwhelming and simply does not do justice to how excited I am for this book. This is the kind of pre-book excitement where I was practically BOUNCING around my room when I found the book listing on GoodReads, and that's a very scary thing considering (1) I'm over 30, and (2) this room is rather small. :p Anyway, you can count on seeing a review for Wild Cards here when it releases this fall because there is absolutely NO doubt that I'll be reading it. :D

It’s not until Sienna is attacked by a crazed YTS fan hired by Sam, and Sam starts to aim her verbal threats at Sienna’s grandmother, that Lucas finally reveals his secret. And it’s a big one...

After reading and loving Devoured last year, I've been waiting not-so-patiently for Consumed to be released and that time is almost here. While I didn't give the first book 5 hearts, I did really enjoy it and I am dying to see how the next part of Sienna and Lucas' story will play out.

Well, well... If I'm being totally honest, this could be very interesting or it could be a total train wreck that will leave me a weepy, blubbering mess. I like happy endings and this seems to be promising anything but. However, that is often the case in fiction and I think the setting and concept is original enough that I might be willing to take a risk. Artists? Futuristic Brazil? A government blocking tech advancement? And a Prince who is destined to die? You have my attention!

Okay, as a huge fan of all things House of Night, I absolutely cannot wait for this. Neferet is a very interesting character, as she went through quite a powerful shift from the first book of the series into the second. Understanding how and why her past may have played a role in this will enrich the overall story arc for the series and will no doubt play an important role in the next main series book. Plus, as always the cover looks gorgeous and I can't wait to add this to my shelf.

Love interests in, essentially, two different realities. Someone with paranormal abilities trying to adjust to the normal world. Contemporary and paranormal themes overlapping (this seems to be a 2013 trend. I've noticed this in a few novels I'm interested in.) All in all, this sounds totally awesome and I'm desperate to get my hands on it!

Why Am I Excited?: 

1. I absolutely loved Legend. I thought it was gripping, that June and Day were both great characters and that the plot held my attention very well. If I love a first book, I'm usually pretty eager to get the next one. 

2. In the first book, June is driven to get revenge for the loss of her brother. She is not a completely unsympathetic character, but she has an edge to her because of her goal in the story. Here, we are seeing a situation where June is thinking rather then reacting, but which is likely going to cause people to question here if she acts on it or says anything about it, thanks to her background. We also don't see how Day is dealing with this (especially with the life of his brother in jeopardy), which leaves some serious questions hanging in the air. 

I can say this much: my money says this won't be dull! So, are you looking forward to Prodigy? Did you like Legend? I'd love to know.

Which will Touching the Surface be? Only time will tell. But for now, I am looking forward to finding out. :)

Okay, first: Oh my God look at that cover! I'm usually not a fan of close up face covers, but that mask is like a magnet drawing me in, or a flame that has somehow turned me into a moth ready to catch on fire and burn. Next up, this is definitely a departure for me. I usually don't read historical stuff unless it's fantasy, and even then it's rare. But something about this story--the fact that it takes place in Venice, perhaps, since I'm modeling a city after that in Sealer's Quest--has grabbed my attention. It is yet to be seen whether I'll roll the dice and add this to my bookshelf, but I can at least say that I'm tempted.

(Gee, with the pause between books I might even have time to read it. :P ) I'm fairly certain this is going to be fabulous.

I'm going to have to redo my review schedule, because I know I'll be dropping everything the minute this is out. (When Destined released I downloaded it on my Kindle and had it finished before morning, if that gives you any idea how I feel about these books.)

I'm definitely intrigued. What is going on here? Is she a mermaid? A siren? Something else? I have absolutely no idea, but I definitely want to find out. Plus, I have a strong suspicion that Meena and Blake will be fun to watch as a pair, considering how much I enjoyed Ree, Paden and Roland when I reviewed Mortal Obligation last year. (Yes, another series I need to go back and finish. The list never ends, I tell you.) 

Velveteen

Velveteen Monroe is dead. At 16, she was kidnapped and murdered by a madman named Bonesaw. But that’s not the problem.

The problem is she landed in purgatory. And while it’s not a fiery inferno, it’s certainly no heaven. It’s gray, ashen, and crumbling more and more by the day, and everyone has a job to do. Which doesn’t leave Velveteen much time to do anything about what’s really on her mind.

Bonesaw.

Velveteen aches to deliver the bloody punishment her killer deserves. And she’s figured out just how to do it. She’ll haunt him for the rest of his days.


It’ll be brutal... and awesome.

But crossing the divide between the living and the dead has devastating consequences. Velveteen’s obsessive haunting cracks the foundations of purgatory and jeopardizes her very soul. A risk she’s willing to take—except fate has just given her reason to stick around: an unreasonably hot and completely off-limits coworker.

Velveteen can’t help herself when it comes to breaking rules... or getting revenge. And she just might be angry enough to take everyone down with her.

This has the potential to be awesome. :D Only time will tell whether the way this story is executed is worthy of such a totally awesome premise, but I can't wait to find out for myself.

This might qualify me as sick in the head: Warner was my favorite character in Shatter Me. Cold, caculating, ruthless ... and yet charismatic and obsessed with Juliette in the most terribly beautiful way. He's my kinda villain.

So when I found out that this novella was being done and that it's from his point of view, I squeed with joy. Warner is such an interesting character that getting inside his head should be great! (And greatly disturbing, I am sure.) I absolutely cannot WAIT to get my hands on this. 

Ironskin

The Mephisto Covenant was one of my most coveted books last year. While it did not have the absolute blow-me-away factor I was hoping it would, I did enjoy it and I have been looking forward to The Mephisto Kiss for months now. 

Trinity Faegen's series is my favorite heaven and hell based series I've read. Her mythology is fascinating, her characters--while they can sometimes drive me nuts--are distinct and she writes great romance. I can't believe it's almost time to pick this up. I have it pre-ordered so I don't have long to wait now. :)

As an author who is soon releasing a Paranormal Romance, one of the things I've learnt in life is not to take myself too seriously. So with it's quirky cover and light hearted blurb, Josie Griffin Is Not A Vampire immediately grabbed my attention. This looks like it should be a fun read and depending on how tongue in cheek Ms. Swain decides to go, it could have a shot at making me laugh. I read a lot of passionate dramatic stuff, so the occasional fun book can serve as a welcome reprieve. Plus, I love books where different myths and legends combine since it opens a lot of interpretation if an author wants to 'go there'.
